Put your cynicism aside and forget about if you don't believe in God, or don't like kids, or aren't a cat person. The following is from Nate, my eight year old friend, after seeing an injured dying cat on his way to school today with his mom.
"I guess that's life, huh mom?" (while crying)
"He's in a better home now, isn't he?"
"Be thankful for our kitties at home."
"Let's say a prayer for that kitty and every other kitty that's being hit by a car right now."
"Dear God, please bless that kitty and take him to heaven."
"Cat heaven is better than human heaven. Because of all the cat nip."
Almost cried.
